We are seeking to appoint a full time (10 PAs) Consultant Psychiatrist in the East CMHT service based at St Mary’s House. This vacancy is a result of a Consultant colleague’s retirement. Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is the main provider of specialist mental health and learning disability services in Leeds. We also provide specialist services across York, the Yorkshire and Humber region, and some highly specialised national services.
The newly transformed community service has been designed following the NHS Long Term Plan which seeks to address gaps in care provision and ensure that people experiencing severe mental illness and difficulties get the care they need.
Mental health services need to ensure that:
Duties will be in line with those of a Consultant Psychiatrist in a community setting. The post holder will work with the MDT colleagues and other agencies to deliver safe and effective care to patients referred to secondary care with psychotic and mood disorders, trauma based presentations and personality disorder. The post holder will provide regular clinical reviews and provide clinical leadership to the MDT. Given the nature of the work, there will be responsibilities in relation to the Mental Health Act (CTOs). Post holder also provides supervision to junior medical staff. There will be a requirement for significant liaison with colleagues with Inpatient and Crisis services to facilitate transitions, planning care and discharge.
