The post will cover community assessment, treatment and psychiatric care for Children and Young people presenting in mental health crisis. There are on call commitments to this post. You will be clinically responsible for patients within Crisis team across 2 locality. You will be part of an established MDT that includes nurses, Allied Health Professionals and support staff.
This is a 6 PA Consultant post in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in the CAMHS Crisis Resolution Team. It is a new post. It is based in Suffolk and was established as part of the commissioned service.

Main duties of the job
- Provide and support the development of specialist psychiatric services to Children and Young people presenting with acute mental illness and mental health crisis, to help safeguard the wellbeing of vulnerable Children and Young people, to comply with confidentiality policies and to record activity accurately and comprehensively.
- Assess and treat children and young people in out-patients setting with acute mental illness and behaviour disorders in line with NICE guidance, best practice and Trust policies, thereby preventing inpatient psychiatric admission where possible.
- Work closely with Multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care and provide clinical leadership within the team.
- Support the care of Children and Young people with acute mental illness and crisis by developing strong partnership with other agencies and services, including education, social care, primary care and voluntary agencies.
- Contribute to clinical leadership within the Trust wide Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, CYP, including participating in the governance structures.
