Job overview

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Consultant colleague to the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with interest in Head and Neck cancers based at St Luke’s Hospital Bradford. The is a permanent post and the post holder will be expected to have a broad experience of the specialty including trauma.

Experience of teaching both under graduates and post graduates would be an advantage. Applicants must be fully registered with the GMC, fit to practice and able to demonstrate that they have the required broad-based training, experience and knowledge for the post.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be job planned to undertake clinics and theatre sessions including supporting Head & Neck cancer services. The appointee is expected to participate in the current 1:7 on-call rota with internal cover. Out-patient clinics are held at St Luke's Hospital. All in-patients are admitted to ward 18 at BRI site. The ward is shared with Urology, ENT and Ophthalmology.

The post holder will have 2 sessions weekly at another peripheral unit. The post-holder is managerially accountable to The Divisional Clinical Director of surgery CBU. The candidate is professionally accountable to the Medical Director at BTHFT.

There is a requirement for supervising trainees.
