Applications are invited for a permanent 10 PA ophthalmology consultant to The Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Foundation Trust Department of Ophthalmology.
The post holder will be required to cover general ophthalmology. We seek an enthusiastic surgeon to enhance the current ophthalmic services and applicants should wish to be part of and develop the department in the future.
Main duties of the job
This position will clinically support the ophthalmology department and will be responsible for transforming the way in which we provide ophthalmology services at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital through application of Royal College and national recommendations such as Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) to deliver a sustainable and modern ophthalmology department.

- Roles of the post
Responsibility for inpatient and outpatient management of ophthalmology patients with the craniofacial, general plastics, burns and Mohs dermatology services, to provide the highest possible standards of care in diagnosis and management of children and adults with ophthalmic abnormalities.
Weekly outpatient clinics and lists.
Close working with MOHs dermatology and cranio-plastics service to facilitate joint working in outpatients and during joint operating lists.
Involvement in an on-call service in conjunction with the North West London ophthalmic services (1:26) and contribution to postgraduate teaching
Contribution to undergraduate curriculum through lectures, tutorials, SSMs and OSCE’s
