Job Summary

This post is in addition to 0.6 WTE Consultant

This is a replacement post, replacing a retiring consultant. The team currently consists of 2.0 WTE substantive Consultants.  The appointee will not be on the on call rota for general medicine.

Breakdown of PAs: Clinics (3 PA’s), Admin (1 PA), IP Diabetes (1 PA), 2 Ward Rounds (2.50 PA’s), SPA (1.5 PA’s) On-call: Additional 1 PA to cover GIM on-call rota at 1 in 16, with clinical commitment cancelled or covered by another colleagues when doing PTWR’s.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

A formal Job Plan will be agreed between the appointee and their Clinical Director, on behalf of the Medical Director, within three months after the commencement date of the appointee. This will be signed by the Clinical Director and will be effective from the commencement date of the appointment.  The Job Plan for the first three months will be agreed between you and the Directorate. The Job Plan will then be reviewed annually, following the Appraisal Meeting.  The Job Plan will be a prospective agreement that sets out a Consultant’s duties, responsibilities and objectives for the coming year.
