Job summary

Main duties of the job

This post is for 0.6 WTE (6Pas) Substantive Consultant in paediatric Dentistry with the Community Dental Service at Sunderland and South Tyneside NHS foundation Trust. This post will be based in Clarendon but most clinic session will occur in paediatric theatres in Sunderland Royal Hospital and in other community clinics based across the service. The department receives referrals from other tertiary services, general dental practitioners and medical practitioners with severe medical complexity, anxiety and trauma.

The successful candidate will join a supportive, caring team and undertake new patient consult clinics including treatment under inhalational, intravenous sedation or general anaesthetic. They must be fully registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) UK and on the GDC Specialist Register in Paediatric Dentistry or equivalent. They must be accredited or within 6 months of such accreditation at interview stage and have completed SAC approved training programme or equivalent.
