Main duties of the job

The role involves comprehensive clinical responsibilities, including assessing new referrals, conducting medical reviews, and participating in multidisciplinary meetings. The consultant will undertake home visits when necessary, contribute to case reviews, and provide expert advice to GPs, liaison teams, and hospitals. Additional duties include preparing reports for mental health tribunals, supporting research projects, supervising nurse prescribers, and participating in emergency assessments as part of the on-call rota. The post also encompasses involvement in teaching, clinical audit, service evaluation, and maintaining accurate clinical records, ensuring high standards of patient care and professional practice.
