We are seeking to appoint a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with skills complementary to existing consultant’s interests. We are looking for a clinician who can work within gynaecology and a desirable quality would be the ability to perform Colposcopy and is accredited with BSCCP. A special interest in disease of the vulva would also be welcomed however, all special areas of interest could be considered after appointment. If desired there will be scope to include inpatient operative gynaecology sessions. Emergency gynaecology care out of hours is expected. The obstetric portion of this job will include participation in labour ward care during the day and out of hours and your own antenatal clinic. This role is advertised due to imminent retirements.
The successful candidate would be expected to participate in the out of hours rota. The on call rota is designed to provide two flexible tiers of consultant medical cover during daytime hours with increased consultant presence in acute obstetrics and gynaecology, but reduces to a single consultant for both overnight. This is currently under review. The job plan consists of ten programmed activities.
