Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and two sub-specialist Consultant Gynaecological Oncologists.

The Department aims to build standard approaches to clinical problems using common protocols and care pathways and the ability to work efficiently in a multidisciplinary team is essential. Applicants must be flexible and ready to meet the challenges presented by the evolving health service in the 21st century.

Main duties of the job

There are presently three consultants in Gynaecological Oncology working in the North Wales Gynaecological Cancer Centre.

The post will be based in Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor. The surgical cancer centre provides an on call service for the gynaecological cancer patients each week. We plan to each cover 1:6 weekends along with our general Obstetric and Gynaecology consultants. However the on-call commitments for this post does not include any general gynaecology or obstetric cover. This is allocated 1.0 sessions. Both the on call and week-end ward round commitments involve prospective cover.

There will be a commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
