We are looking for a part time locum Consultant in Emergency Department. You will join a team of 95 Clinicians which includes 16 Substantive Consultants,1 Locum Consultant, 3 Associate specialists, 21 Middle grade doctors, 21 junior doctors and 22 Advanced clinical practitioners and 13 Emergency Nurse practitioners.
The Emergency Department is based at Kettering General Hospital Foundation Trust and sees approximately 100,000 patients annually.
The Emergency Department lies within a Clinical Management Team comprising Emergency Medicine, General Medicine and Medical Specialities. In recent years, major developments have taken place reflecting the importance given by the Trust to Acute Care. The organisation is engaged in a major transformational programme for urgent and emergency care. There are close working relationships between the Emergency Department and other departments and several forums are in place to facilitate joint working. Kettering General Hospital Foundation Trust is the PPCI centre for Northamptonshire.

This is post supports the existing team of 14 full time Consultants, 3 Associate specialists, total of 21 Specialty doctors which include 3 higher Specialty trainees (East Midlands deanery) and 12 CESR trainees, total of 21 SHO's which include 3 ACCS trainees, 6 GP trainees, 1 Foundation Year two trainee,20 Advanced Clinical and 13 Emergency Nurse Practitioners.
The department is based at Kettering General Hospital Foundation Trust and sees approximately 90-100,000 patients annually.
Applicants should be MB, ChB/MBBS and FRCEM qualified (or equivalent), and preferably be on the GMC Specialist Register for Emergency Medicine or be eligible for entry within 6 months.
An ability to work independently, and more importantly as a team, whilst working calmly under pressure is essential.

The department made the recent decision to relocate paediatrics ED into a new area to capture the increase in the number of attendances. As a result, we are also welcoming application of candidates with Paediatric subspecialty to help us develop our Paediatric ED.
