Job summary

We are seeking a dedicated Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry to join the Winchester and Test Valley CAMHS team. Based across Advertiser House in Andover and Avalon House in Winchester, this role provides vital support to young people facing complex mental health challenges. Working within a skilled multi-disciplinary team, you will offer clinical leadership, assessments, and targeted treatments, focusing on high-risk and complex cases. This post includes 7 Programmed Activities (PAs) weekly, balancing direct clinical care with opportunities for professional development and service enhancement. Main duties of the job

As a Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry with the Winchester and Test Valley CAMHS team, you will play a central role in the assessment and treatment of young people with significant mental health issues. Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting in-depth psychiatric evaluations, developing personalised treatment plans, and overseeing complex cases within a collaborative multi-disciplinary team.
• Acting as the Responsible Clinician, managing Mental Health Act responsibilities and maintaining clinical oversight for a select caseload.
• Providing guidance to team members, ensuring best practices in risk management and care delivery.
• Participating in service planning, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Engaging in training and mentoring junior doctors, contributing to a culture of continuous professional growth and innovation.
• This role is ideal for consultants with strong clinical and leadership skills, dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in a dynamic CAMHS environment.
