Job overview

Are you ready for a varied Consultant Psychiatrist role in an established CAMHS service?

Do you want to provide an alternative to admission for children and adolescents with complex mental health needs?

Join our Phoenix House CAMHS team at Wokingham Community Hospital, a Tier 4 alternative to admission service. We support up to 16 young people with a range of severe mental health challenges - from eating disorders to psychosis, self-harm, and mood disorders - helping them stay in their community as day patients.

You’ll work as part of our rich and established multidisciplinary team including family therapists, clinical psychologists, dietitians, nurses, and therapists. Alongside a diverse caseload you’ll enjoy varied ways of working including day care, home treatment, and community visits.

You’ll be part of Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust - we’re rated "Outstanding" by the CQC, who highlight our positive, supportive culture where staff feel valued.  We consistently top NHS staff survey scores, including engagement and staff recommending us as a place to work.

This full-time 10 PA role is based in Wokingham with core hours of Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, with low-intensity on-call support.  We are pleased to offer a Recruitment premium of £15,000 and relocation allowance of £8,000 (if applicable) for external candidates.

Applications for this role will be processed as received. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible, as vacancies may close early.

  • Participate in weekly MDT meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical audits.
