Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Cardiologist with any specialty interest that aligns with requirements of the wider University Hospital of Tees Cardiology department
Main duties of the job
The appointee will be expected to participate in and share responsibility with the existing consultants for:
- The clinical workload of the department and service development
- The day to day running of the cardiology service
- The administrative affairs of the department
- Develop a further special interest according to the interests of the post-holder and the needs of the department. This may include the need for cross site working
- Maintain the highest clinical standards in the practice of cardiology.
- Undertake any responsibility which relates to the agreed special interests.
- Provide cover for colleagues’ annual leave and other authorised absences.
- Provide professional supervision and management of resident medical staff.
- Be actively involved in the management of the department, including attendance at the Consultant Cardiologists’ meetings, monthly cardiology directorate meetings and other Specialist Centre meetings as applicable.
