Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will join an established, successful, enthusiastic and ACSA accredited team in delivering quality anaesthetic, peri-operative and critical care services to the local West Dorset population and adjoining areas. This includes anaesthetic support for the hospital’s surgical teams including Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Maxillo-facial, ENT (adult and paediatric), Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Urology, Paediatric Dental, Colorectal, Renal Access and General Surgery. Anaesthetic support is also provided in the radiology suite, endoscopy unit and for dental sedation.

Applicants should have obtained their CCT and be on the Specialist Register. They will ideally have had previous experience at a consultant level in the UK.

This includes anaesthetic support for the hospital’s surgical teams including Orthopaedics (adult and paediatric), Ophthalmology, Maxillo-facial, ENT (adult and paediatric), Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Urology, Paediatric Dental, Colorectal, Renal Access and General Surgery. Anaesthetic support is also provided in the radiology suite, endoscopy unit and for dental sedation.

There will be some commitment to teaching within normal clinical work.  It is hoped that it will be possible to accommodate a specialist interest to complement the skills of the successful appointee.
