Job overview

We are seeking Registered Nurses and/or Operating department Practitioners to join our Cardiac paediatric and adult congenital theatre team. Prior congenital cardiac scrub experience is essential.

Our elective program runs from Monday to Friday and we work shifts on a 24/7 basis to provide emergency cover out of hours. We have one congenital adult and paediatric theatre running five days/week and a second congenital theatre running one day per week. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to practice in a complex and demanding speciality, offering unique experience of congenital heart conditions in both paediatric and adult congenital patients.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The successful post holder will:  • Provide skilled specialist assistance in the delivery of direct and indirect patient care throughout the Operating Department. • Participate as an integral member of the theatre Scrub team, covering a full range of shifts, including earlies, lates, nights and weekends.  • Act as the patient advocate and maintain high standards of patient care, in line with NMC or HCPC code of conduct.  • Be involved in supporting and mentoring students and new staff as appropriate.

Relocation allowance is available for this post. Please note that terms and conditions apply and can be discussed with the appointing manager at the interview stage.
