8 Month FTC Mat Leave Cover Band 6 community speech and language therapist
This role is suited to an experienced speech and language therapist who is confident and competent in the assessment and management of adults with communication and/or swallowing difficulties in a community setting across a wide range of specialties within the community setting. The community team is a friendly dynamic team and we offer both one to one and group settings both in clinic and in a person's own home. Ability to travel to home visits and various clinical settings is essential as is the ability to work autonomously with regular clinical support and supervision. You will be a strong team player who is able to provide high quality speech and language therapy assessments and interventions across a wide variety of clinical needs.
Main duties of the job
To provide a high standard of speech and language therapy assessment and management of adults with communication and/or swallowing difficulties in a variety of community settings; autonomously manage a complex caseload; supervision of SLT and other students as required; participation in service quality improvement projects; undertake professional duties as a qualified senior speech and language therapist seeking advice from senior colleagues where appropriate.
