Job overview

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join us in Tower Hamlets community health services. Based in Tower Hamlets, the Band 5 occupational therapy rotation offers diverse experience across physical and mental health service and within social care. The rotation includes specialities across community services: community therapy team, urgent community response team which includes rapid response and intermediate care team, community older adults’ mental health, inpatient adult mental health, Adult Social Care teams including initial assessment team, major adaptations, Housing/Lettings Services, joint health and social care teams reablement and community learning disabilities.

Main duties of the job

The occupational therapy service has an excellent Band 5 Occupational Therapist support program offering training and development meetings and continuing professional development activities. You will be supported in developing your OT skills and encouraged in your professional development from a large and supportive OT service renowned for its innovation. We value commitment to professional development, training and high quality clinical supervision for all our staff, some of whom have external teaching and lecturing responsibilities. Newly qualified OTs will be supported by preceptorship.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Rotations are 9 months in length. You will rotate across differing services and be supported to develop your skills to practice autonomously. The rotation provides the opportunity to work within both OT and multi-professional led services, across health and social care.  You will be expected to work within all legal and professional frameworks. The rotation has a monthly peer support group.
