Join Our Caithness Midwifery Team – Make a Difference to Maternity Care in a Stunning Location

Are you ready for a role that combines professional growth with breathtaking scenery? The Caithness Integrated Midwifery Team is looking for passionate midwives to join our Community Midwifery Unit. Whether you’re newly qualified or experienced, this is your chance to deliver midwife-led care and develop as an autonomous practitioner in a truly unique remote and rural setting.

What We Offer:

  • A supportive, friendly team based at Caithness General Hospital, serving communities across Caithness and North Sutherland.
  • The opportunity to provide local birth choices in a low-risk environment, with around 15 births annually and care for 125 families throughout pregnancy and postnatal journeys.
  • Close collaboration with the NHS Highland Obstetric, Midwifery, and Neonatal team at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness (approximately 110 miles away) for higher-risk pregnancies and sick neonate transfers.
  • A flexible 24/7 service with on-call provision, a full and current driving licence is essential for this role.
