The maternity team at CDDFT are searching for a committed, dynamic and enthusiastic midwife to join our Darlington and Newton Aycliffe community midwifery team based in Darlington Memorial Hospital.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a passionate, committed band 6 midwife to provide maternity care within our community midwifery team based at Darlington Memorial Hospital. You will be responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised care plans which ensure delivery of holistic, research based care, prioritising communication, informed consent and relationship building. CDDFT community midwives are passionate about facilitating antenatal and postnatal continuity of care and you will be supported as an autonomous practitioner to plan your diary around your caseload, ensuring that women and families are at the centre of everything we do.

Job responsibilities

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
