We are looking for an enthusiastic, and dynamic nurse who would like to be part of a friendly integrated multi professional Learning Disability team within Argyll and Bute.
FIXED TERM 2 YEARS
The nurse will provide a distinct service to adults with a Learning Disability in West Argyll which can include the Oban, Mid Argyll and Kintyre area
You should be a registered nurse preferably RNLD (Learning Disability ), with a commitment to furthering your knowledge of specific skills of LD nursing.
You will be working alongside the senior nurse and other members of the Multi-disciplinary Team.
You will carry an appropriate caseload as discussed with the Senior Nurse providing assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of this specific individual group and be available to give advice and offer opinion to parents, family members, carers, care providers, local authorities and other health care professionals.
In Argyll and Bute, the Learning Disability Team are taking forward the Scottish Government Health Check Programme and therefore all nurses in Argyll and Bute will be involved with Health Checks
We require someone who can work with a person centred approach, good people skills, open to learning, and have some experience in working positively with other agencies, care providers, and health workers.
Clinical supervision will be provided by the Senior Nurse and there will be opportunities for peer supervision with other learning disability nurses within Argyll and Bute and North Highland
Car Driver/UK Driving Licence essential.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
