You will be joining a friendly, supportive team of 7 dietitians and 4 dietetic assistants, with dedicated secretarial and admin support. We hold regular team meetings and supervision, and there are plenty of opportunities for CPD to help you stay up to date for HCPC registration.

The Community Dietitian role is a part-time position of 15 hours per week, for a period of 9 months to cover maternity leave within the team.

This part time fixed‑term community post is based in the beautiful coastal area of East Dorset, offering a varied and rewarding caseload across adults and children (aged 2+). No two days will look the same—you will be working in GP surgeries, outpatient clinics, care homes, and people’s own homes, supporting individuals with a wide range of nutritional needs including overweight, malnutrition, IBS, food allergy/intolerance, selective eating. There is also the opportunity to work from home as part of our flexible working policy.
Professional Development
We will support you to take the lead in a specialist area of interest within the department, with training available if needed. You will also play a key role in supporting and supervising Dietetic Assistants and contributing to student training.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues across health and social care, and may attend safeguarding meetings, professional discussions, and team‑around‑the‑child or family meetings. There will also be opportunities to deliver training to other professionals in areas such as malnutrition and weight management.
