Communications is a high priority and we are recruiting an enthusiastic communications professional into our busy corporate communications team. You will work in the core team, together with a wider multi-skilled team. The post holder will be responsible for providing communications support to staff at all levels across the organisation and will support or manage a range of exciting and innovative communications projects, campaigns and events.
You should be educated to degree level or equivalent experience and ideally hold at least one years communications experience in a related discipline. You will have knowledge and experience of PR and communications techniques, internal communications practice, working with the media, developing communications plans and supporting communications projects. Use and knowledge of social media is important, as is the ability to be able to write well and repackage complex information into plain English.

The post holder will be an integral part of the communications team responsible for supporting the delivery of an effective internal and external communications service to support Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in the delivery of its vision, goals and objectives. The post is a generic post covering the whole range of communications functions providing the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of work. The post holder will support or manage communications activity in a wide range of project areas, including internal and external communications, campaigns, events and projects. The post holder will help to develop appropriate systems and processes within the communications team and will be responsible for maintenance of these. Information from these systems will also be used in the content of reports to the Board and Executive team. The post holder will be responsible for providing training and supervision for Trust staff in the use of social media and for proactively identifying, writing and posting content to the Trust corporate Facebook and Twitter accounts. The post holder will also be responsible for media evaluation ensuring we have a clear picture of traditional and social media activity that can be used to inform decision making and progress against agreed KPIs. A key aspect of the work will be to liaise with key contacts in clinical services to support local communications and engagement and to identify good practice, examples and case studies.
