The post-holder will support with operational delivery and record-keeping of key communications tasks and projects. The post-holder will deliver communication and engagement actions, including weekly newsletters and supporting with engagement events for staff and stakeholders.
It is expected that type of work undertaken by the post holder will change over time, as the portfolio of work changes. This role is open to staff who are keen to start a career in communications and engagement.
The role involves supporting both external and internal communication and engagement by escorting visitors and media crews in line with policy, helping to deliver staff and stakeholder events, and producing, proofreading and editing high‑quality content for publications and digital channels. Key duties include timely triaging of communication and engagement requests through the department’s workflow system, identifying opportunities to explain and promote NSFT services and initiatives, and delivering communication and engagement activity that aligns with the Trust’s values and strategy. The post holder is responsible for ensuring engaging, inclusive, and high‑quality content is regularly produced for a range of platforms, maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date online information, and contributing to weekly internal newsletters. They will work closely with colleagues to meet communication requirements for projects and initiatives, foster strong working relationships across teams, and support staff‑facing communication and engagement work. Additional expectations include representing the Trust professionally at all times, supporting ad‑hoc projects, attending relevant meetings, travelling between locations as required, continually developing within the post, and completing other duties assigned by the line manager.
