12 month secondment opportunity (maternity cover) to operationally lead and deliver the Voice service to outpatients (adults and children) with clinical voice disorders.
This is an ideal opportunity to develop a leadership portfolio and an experienced band 6 with relevant skills looking to grow their experience, are welcome to apply. Experience of working with upper airways conditions (e.g., chronic cough, laryngeal hypersensitivity, inducible laryngeal obstruction and Long COVID) is desirable alongside underpinning knowledge of neurology.
The well-established model of an 'ENT SLT' service at ELHT means that there may be the opportunity for the successful applicant to clinically contribute to Head & Neck and FEES services where appropriate and according to competencies and experience.
Main duties of the job
- To provide clinical leadership and service development within Clinical Voice Disorders and ENT.
- To provide clinical services to adults and children with acquired voice, communication and/or swallowing problems.
- To use evidence-based, highly specialist skills to undertake expert assessments and deliver appropriate interventions to complex clinical caseload.
- To provide input into teaching, training and supporting junior staff if required
- To engage and continue to be an active member of the wider ENT multi-disciplinary team.
