South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT) is a teaching hospital associated with the University of Warwick Medical School (WMS) and the University of Buckingham Medical School (uBMS). We are advertising for Clinical Education Fellows to join our medical education team in providing education and training to both medical students and resident doctors.
Warwick Medical School has a graduate intake of students and is a four year course which takes account of prior learning and mature learning styles.
Buckingham Medical School is an independent medical school and runs a compressed undergraduate entry course over four and a half years.
Phase I of both courses is taught predominantly in the university setting with students attending a number of bedside teaching sessions within the Trust. The remainder of both courses is primarily held on placement in Trusts. Post-holders will therefore be involved in teaching and assessment of students both within the Trust and at the universities.
This is a 12 month fixed term appointment, usually starting in August. The post is split between teaching and clinical work within the palliative care team with approximately 50% of the time spent with each.
The post is designed to support undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. Post-holders will teach medical students in both the hospital and university settings and will have the opportunity to deliver teaching to doctors in training. As a result, our education fellows will be involved in teaching a broad range of topics across both universities and at postgraduate level, requiring high levels of flexibility and adaptability.
