Applications are invited for a Clinical Teaching Fellow (CTF) in Cardiology with an anticipated start date of 6th August 2025.  The post is for one year initially with scope to extend for a further 12 months.

The post is full time, 10 sessions per week, compromising of 50% teaching and 50% clinical time. Any out of hours work will be paid at a suppliment as agreed by the Clinical Board

The postholder will be required to work at both University Hospital of Wales  (UHW) and University Hospital Llandough (UHL)

This post offers an exciting opportunity for a forward thinking doctor with a strong interest in medical education.  Support may also be available to pursue a postgraduate medical education based qualification

Main duties of the job

Teaching is a major component of the role and the successful postholder will work with the Department of Medical Education, Specialty Lead and undergraduate tutors to deliver evidence based undergraduate education to Cardiff and Swansea University medical students.  The successful applicant will have an honorary contract with Cardiff University with the title Honorary Lecturer.

Clinical time will be spent in Cardiology.  The timetable for this period will be agreed to enable the appointee to work at a level that is suitable for their stage of training.  The UHB provides expertise in all aspects of general adult cardiology along with opportunity to be trained in invasive coronary procedures, pacing, devices, electrophysiology, heart muscle disease, cardiac imaging and adult congenital heart diseases if appropriate
