Clinical Support Worker -  General Medicine

We require  enthusiastic and flexible  Clinical Support Workers to join our Older Adults Team .You will need to be a team player with good communication skills and an ability to adapt to new situations with a strong focus on providing excellent quality patient care within the Older Adults Wards.

Main duties of the job

In this post you would be responsible for providing fundamental elements of patient care as directed by the qualified nursing team to ensure our patients receive the highest standard of dignified & respectful care, in accordance with their care plans.  We are looking for people who are compassionate & feel passionately about providing a level of care they would wish for their family & friends.

  • The patients’ dignity is maintained at all times/ team working
  • The patient is offered appropriate support and reassurance during their hospital stay, in a manner sensitive to there needs and concerns.
  • Ensures all equipment is maintained and kept clean.
  • Cleans and tidies the environment.
  • Prepare equipment for medical and nursing staff for procedures
  • Demonstrates safe working practices in the use of equipment in the clinical area completion of mandatory training.

You will support the registered staff within the department, and undertake the following;

  • Assist patients on their activities of daily living
  • Escort patients going to procedures
  • Urine Analysis (Strip)
  • Support and Assist New Staff- Buddy System
  • Report risks as appropriate
  • Effective communication and documentation
