Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a band 3 Clinical Support Assistant to work within our North Tyneside Recovery Partnership. You will work directly into the Criminal Justice Pathway.

The role entails working with those affected by substance and alcohol misuse who also have criminal justice involvement/background. You will be expected to support in the providing of safe and effective interventions, harm reduction advice and use of psycho-social interventions to support service users to consider and achieve recovery.

There will be expectation within the role to offer an outreach approach

The team consists of a well-established mix of professionals that work collaboratively to deliver individualised care.

The role involves individualised clinical assessment, care planning, formulation, and collaborative working across the multi-agency team.

Main duties of the job

  • To assist in the delivery of care to service users who have a variety of needs, diverse presentations and a range of mental health conditions, cognitive and/or learning disabilities under the direction of a registered practitioner
  • Supporting those who have a criminal justice background or active criminal justice involvement. Supporting them to consider the links between offending and their alcohol/substance misuse and what changes they may want to change in relation to this
  • To implement and evaluate care within a prescribed framework as a member of the care team ensuring that high quality, individualised care is delivered and that this promotes recovery and wellbeing and maximises independence.
  • To support the team in providing excellent and effective person-centred care.
  • To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.
  • To actively engage with supervision and appraisal process as identified in Trust policy.
