Job overview

There is an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Physiotherapist to join the Community Paediatric Therapies Service. The post holder will provide specialist Physiotherapy assessment and treatment to children aged 0-19 years in a wide range of settings within the community.

We are a friendly, dynamic and supportive team who all work together to provide the best possible outcomes for the children, young people and their families. There will be the opportunity to develop more advanced clinical, leadership and service development skills.

The post is based at West Acklam Centre but there is also the requirement for independent travel around community settings within the Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland region. It involves working within the wider integrated Paediatric Therapies Service which includes the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy teams covering the acute services at The James Cook University Hospital.

Main duties of the job

To provide assessment and interventions to children/young people aged 0-19 years old with a variety of conditions, including complex needs who are resident within the South Tees region.

The specialist physiotherapy assessment and intervention will take place in the most appropriate community location to best meet the needs of the individual child/young person and their family. Access to independent travel is essential.

Clinical supervision and line management duties of other staff members within the team is an important duty of this role. Appropriate additional duties will be delegated to the successful candidate by the Service Lead including representation of the wider Paediatric Therapies Service in external/Trust wide meetings.

Leading on service improvement and development projects.

Significant postgraduate experience working within Paediatric Physiotherapy and enthusiasm for working with a wide range of children/young people up to the age of 19 is essential.
