Job overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Dorset Pain Management Service. The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working with patients with long term conditions but if not please do get in touch anyway and have a chat as full training and support will be provided.

The post is part-time and will cover North and West Dorset and the team base will be Littlemoor Health Centre with hybrid working and face to face clinics in locations across the patch.

The Dorset Pain Management Service is a vibrant service, consisting of an inter-professional team. We employ modernised clinical practice to help people coping with chronic, non-malignant pain lead meaningful lives.

Our pan-Dorset service offers individual interventions and group programmes in various locations county wide; these are delivered by two teams across the county. The staff mix includes pain consultants, psychologists, specialist physiotherapists, pain and mental health nurses and occupational therapists, therapy assistants, trainees from various departments and our hardworking admin support team.

Main duties of the job

To assess, plan, implement and evaluate specialist treatment and care to people on an allocated caseload, promoting independence  and autonomy, working within a multi-disciplinary team.  Facilitating of group pain management programmes.

In addition to the clinical element, there is a strong educational component and are staff are involved in local training initiatives within primary and secondary care.
