Research Nurse

Band 5 £29,970 - £36,483 per annum
Hours 37.5hrs per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Research Nurse to join Milton Keynes University Hospital’s Research & Development department in this permanent role. You will be liaising with clinical teams to recruit eligible patients, support delivery of clinical interventions and conduct tests according to specific study protocols. You will also be responsible for study follow up, data entry, ensuring patient safety and maintaining high levels of quality assurance. You will have the opportunity to be involved in the set-up of new trials and will be required to work within the multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality clinical research. You will gain knowledge and experience in research, IT platforms, data management, governance processes and logistics on top of your clinical skills.
The ideal candidate would have relevant post registration experience and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, possessing good timekeeping, prioritisation skills and be willing to learn and develop within the role.

The post holder will work within the Research Team at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, with a primary aim of promoting the entry of patients into clinical trials across the Trust. The post holder will work within the Research team supporting the more senior nurses in raising awareness of, delivery, and follow-up on clinical trials, increasing the number of patients recruited in line with National Institute for Health Research high level objectives.
Central to this role is the recruitment, education and monitoring of the patient entering a clinical trial. The maintenance of accurate and comprehensive records is an essential aspect of this post. The post holder will work closely with clinical teams and support departments as and where required, continually striving to improve quality of care and clinical outcomes. Delivery of the service level agreement with the East of England Regional Research Delivery Network (EoERRDN) is an essential component of this role.

Assist with the implementation, development, and facilitation of the running of trials as part of the research team within Milton Keynes University Hospital, as directed by the Research & Development Department and involve clinicians, in order to achieve the objectives of the EoERRDN outlined above.
