We encourage applications from newly qualified Psychological Practitioners such as a Clinical Psychologists or Psychotherapist at a Band 7 and you will be offered development to an 8a with a Psychological preceptorship programme. A Band 7 would have increased support and supervision.
The primary responsibility of this position will be to provide a specialized clinical psychology service to the inpatient wards within the Bolton Directorate, focusing on adults with acute mental health needs. The role will include collaboration during the transition to Home-Based Treatment and community services, in addition to supporting colleagues in the implementation of psychological interventions. You will receive support from the Principal Psychological Therapist, an experienced team of clinical psychologists/psychotherapists, as well as the supportive senior leadership team.
In this capacity, you will assist in supervising the work of two assistant-grade psychologists and collaborate closely with psychology colleagues, nursing staff, and medical professionals.
Clinical responsibilities will entail conducting comprehensive assessments of the psychological needs of service users during their inpatient stay, when appropriate, as well as developing psychological formulations that facilitate the identification and addressing of those needs. You will also be responsible for delivering relevant psychological interventions, contributing to care planning, and providing advice, consultation, and supervision to other staff involved in the psychological care of service users.
Additionally, this role requires autonomy in adherence to professional guidelines as well as the Trust's policies and procedures. You will provide supervision and training on psychological principles and interventions to other professional groups. Utilizing research skills for audit, policy, service development, and relevant research activities will also be an essential part of this position.
