We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and innovative Band 7 clinical psychologist within the Psychological and Mental Health Services (PAMHS) at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). The post holder will work as part of a team of clinical psychologists within the Long Term Health Conditions Stream which provides a specialist paediatric psychology service to children and young people under the care of metabolic, cardiology, respiratory, critical care, cancer, immunology, bone marrow transplant, and palliative care teams at GOSH. The post holder will primarily provide services into the metabolic service.
The wide range of medical specialties covered provide an opportunity for working with a large range of different psychological presentations in a mixture of inpatient and outpatient work, and there are opportunities for developing expertise in working with medical MDTs, staff support, supervision, and service development.
You will join a supportive team of psychologists working across these medical specialties whilst also being able to access the learning and opportunities that come with being part of a large psychology service at a leading children's hospital.

The postholder will be joining a team of clinical psychologists in the provision of a clinical psychology service to children and families cared for by the metabolic service at Great Ormond Street Hospital. A range of paediatric psychology input is required, working alongside medical, nursing and allied health professional colleagues, to meet the varied psychological needs of this diverse population They will also be expected to provide recommendations and extensive consultation to professional colleagues and other agencies involved in the child’s care, including facilitating staff support and reflective practice. The post holder may supervise assistant psychologists and other more junior staff as agreed with the consultant psychologists for their group. The post offers opportunities for professional development and also to utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research.
