Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated Clinical Psychologist, with post qualification experience in learning disability services.  The post is part time and will be based in Astley Court inpatient assessment and treatment service.  As part of the inter-disciplinary team, the post holder will provide a psychological service to people admitted to Astley Court.

The post holder will be professionally supervised by a senior clinical psychologist and will have the opportunity to be part of a large active group of qualified Psychologists working across four counties.  The service has strong links with the clinical psychology doctoral training programs in each county and a strong commitment to supporting on-going continuing professional development.

Main duties of the job

To provide a specialist clinical psychology service to adults with learning disabilities that are admitted to Astley Court and coordinate the psychological service within the inpatient unit.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To provide highly specialised specialist psychological assessment and interventions, as well as offering advice and consultation on service user psychological care to non psychologist colleagues and other non-professional carers.  To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.  To use research skills for audit, service development and research.  Contribute to identifying key areas and priorities for psychology service provision.
