We are seeking an experienced 8B Clinical Psychologist to lead the psychology service in our tertiary neonatal unit at University Hospital Southampton. The neonatal unit has 23 intensive care cots and 14 special care cots in our recently built Woodland Ward. The successful candidate will work alongside an 8a Clinical Psychologist and the family care nursing team to provide trauma informed, family centred care for babies and their families. There is a long and established relationship with psychology and the post holder will have opportunities to be involved in service development, research and training within the unit.
The post holder will report to the Lead Clinical Psychologist for Child Health and will be part of the wider paediatric psychology service made up of 25 Clinical Psychologists, a Family Therapist, Assistant and Trainee Psychologists and an admin team. We are a friendly and supportive team with good arrangements for supervision and continuing professional development. Within this role, there are excellent opportunities to connect with other psychological professionals working in paediatric and neonatal intensive care units across the country and to link in with the Thames Valley and Wessex Neonatal Network.

We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about delivering high quality psychological care to babies and families admitted to the NICU. As the lead psychologist on the neonatal unit you will deliver consultation, training and support to the MDT and will offer clinical supervision to Clinical Psychologists working in NICUs across the region. There will be opportunities to collaborate with the Neonatal Network to develop research, service developments and innovations in the field.
