NHS Western Isles is currently inviting applications from suitably qualified registered health professionals for the post of Clinical Practice Trainer (simulation focused). We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who will be responsible for delivering our simulation and clinical skills teaching programme for medical undergraduates, post graduates, nursing staff and allied health professionals. The aim of the role is to facilitate the training opportunities provided at NHS Western Isles and to deliver simulation-based training within the curriculum requirements for medical undergraduates, as well as within national guidelines for post graduate trainees.
The post holder will have extended post registration experience as a registered healthcare professional and be up to date in clinical skills. The post holder will have a Degree in Nursing, Midwifery or another health-related subject, and be able to provide evidence of continuing professional development. The post holder will have experience of teaching clinical skills, though the option to attend courses/ refreshers for Clinical Skills training will be available.
The post holder will be based in the Clinical Skills Department in Western Isles Hospital but will support staff in all our healthcare locations throughout NHS Western Isles. The ability to travel throughout the islands and to the mainland for meetings and courses is preferable.
This post is not eligible for relocation expenses. The successful applicant will be required to register with the Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme).
