The Clinical Pharmacy Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and developing the Clinical Pharmacy Service to ensure the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medicines.
They will provide strategic and operational leadership for clinical pharmacy teams, ensuring delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care, medicines optimisation, governance, patient safety, workforce development, and service transformation.
The role supports organisational priorities, national NHS strategy, and compliance with regulatory and professional standards including GPhC, CQC, and NHS England requirements.
Main duties of the job
- Lead the delivery of high-quality clinical pharmacy services across inpatient services
- Provide expert pharmaceutical advice on complex clinical cases
- Support consultant-led multidisciplinary teams (MDT)
- Ensure medicines optimisation principles are embedded across services
- Promote safe prescribing, administration, monitoring, and discharge planning
- Lead specialist clinical pharmacy initiatives and advanced practice models
- Support antimicrobial stewardship and formulary compliance
