Each rotation has set clinical objectives that are agreed with your line manager that will be reviewed at each rotation to ensure that progress is being made.   Rotations include but is not exhaustive; acute, general and specialist medicine, general surgery, paediatrics/medicines info and medication safety/governance.

Applicants must be registered with the GPhC, have good written and oral communication skills, the ability to apply evidence/guidelines to practice and be aware of their own limitations and can refer to others for advice when necessary. Time management and prioritisation are also important skills for this role.

Main duties of the job

Further to this, all foundational pharmacists are provided with a rotational role across our 3 largest hospital sites to experience these specialities in different working environments.

Alongside the extensive training received in-house, with monthly clinical education sessions in a variety of clinical topics we encourage all of our foundation pharmacists to sign up to the NHS England Newly Qualified Pharmacists programme.  This training will be heavily supported by a network of educational supervisors, practice supervisors and experienced pharmacists and technicians that will all be available to support you.
