Job overview
The post holder will have responsibility for the promotion and assistance in the maintenance of the highest attainable standards of nursing care provided by the teams. Providing practical support and advice to the team members ensuring they are visible to all staff to provide clinical leadership. They will also work closely with each area of the team focusing on projects identified by management ensuring improvement of service and practice.
Main duties of the job
- To assist managers and the Trust to develop and improve services and practice for patients and staff.
- Ensure that all staff are aware of and comply with NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
- To provide clinical leadership, guidance, support and coaching to staff, promoting effective change management and strengthening of other staffing leadership skills.
- Report to the Team Manager on the current state of staffing, seeking appropriate support as required.
- Contribute to the management of complex case work.
- To plan, organise, undertake and document full bio-psychosocial assessment for patients referred to service.
- Work closely with medical colleagues to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- To communicate diagnosis and treatment options to the patient and family.
- To provide advice, information and post-diagnostic counselling support to the patient and family.
