Job overview

The All Age ASD Team are looking to recruit a part-time 30 hours per week, Band 7 Clinical Lead.

The successful candidate will:

  • Support the Team Manager in delivering a high-quality ASD assessment and intervention service for the young people of the city of Stoke on Trent, and Newcastle and the Moorlands area.
  • Provide clinical leadership within the team and management support, deputising for the Team Manager in their absence.
  • Work autonomously within a multi-disciplinary framework, providing training and staff development, specialist assessment, clinical support and time limited interventions to service users.
  • Act as a source of expertise and point of contact within the team and demonstrate highly specialised communication skills and problem solving abilities when prioritising risk.

Main duties of the job

  • Act as a positive role model for the discipline through the demonstration of strong leadership skills
  • Provide support and advice in the clinical area to optimise quality improvement opportunities. This may involve working alongside individual practitioners in the clinical area, in particular where practitioners are experiencing difficulties or are unable to achieve the required outcomes
  • Analyse and respond to complex clinical situations utilising specialist knowledge to assess a range of options to formulate solutions and recommendations
  • Act as a change agent, using skills that will motivate and reassure staff through negotiation and training to facilitate the change process
  • In conjunction with other clinical leads, facilitate collaborative working between disciplines
  • Work closely with organisations to ensure that staff are supported through organisational change.
  • To manage quality standards within the teams, this can include leading on appropriate CQUIN’s and other quality initiatives.

  • To ensure that patient centred care is clearly defined and understood in all management plans.
  • To assess and work with individual members of staff with regards to assessing competencies
  • To work in collaboration with caseload managers to ensure that clinical work is allocated appropriately and proportionately.
  • To lead upon a pathway that is consistent with a recovery focussed approach.
  • To develop action plans for individual staff members or teams where there are areas of concern in conjunction with the Manager.
  • To monitor and sign off action plans when completed.
  • To share learning from incidents and disseminate to staff.
