Are you an enthusiastic, motivated and committed pharmacist?  If so we would like you to join our mental health pharmacy team!

You will need to have the skills to be able to work within the wider multi-disciplinary team of nurses and doctors and other allied healthcare professionals and managers. You will want to develop and improve the reliability and quality of our clinical pharmacy service. You will need to have specific experience working with pharmacy teams and patients within the mental health setting. You will want to reach targets set by the Trust and by the pharmacy service.  You must be self- motivated and able to motivate others.

Our dynamic and creative ELFT pharmacy team provides pharmacy services to a wide range of community and inpatient service users in Luton and Bedforshire, City and Hackney, Newham and Tower Hamlets. This includes children and young people to adults of working age, older adults, and forensic patients.

The post is 30 hours worked over 4 days, Monday-Thursday 12-months fixed term. There may be an opportunity to build hours on BANK outside the contracted hours as well as extending the hours up to full time in the future.

The job share partner for the role will work on Friday(s).

Main duties of the job

• To support and coordinate a comprehensive clinical pharmacy and medicines management service to the City and Hackney and forensic directorates.
• To ensure the provision of a high quality, responsive and patient centered pharmacy service to all patients within the directorate by implementing and monitoring the Trust’s clinical pharmacy standards.
• To attend Hackney management meetings including clinical risk and inpatient management meeting
• To represent the Forensic Directorate at Trust-wide meetings
• To manage audit and quality improvement projects for the City and Hackney and forensic service pharmacy alongside the lead pharmacist
• To support the clinical pharmacists and medicines management technicians in their delivery of the clinical service.
• To attend regional clinical pharmacy network groups and network and feedback with initiatives.
• To ensure the effective day to day management of the Trust Medicines Information service. (this service is currently under review)
• To attend and contribute to the Trust Senior Pharmacy Managers meetings.
• To attend and contribute to the Trusts medicines committee
• To deputize for the Lead Pharmacist in his or her absence
• To undertake operational work, either medicines information or link pharmacist
