If you are an experienced Occupational Therapist, who is also a proactive, motivated and compassionate individual, then this is an opportunity for you to use your skills to provide Clinical Leadership delivering Occupational Therapy in Pembrokeshire.
Based in Withybush General Hospital we believe in a Home First approach, with Occupational Therapy as an integral part of MDT working, providing Occupational Therapy input to a range of Wards that include Medicine, Cardiac, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Frailty, as well as patients coming through the trauma network pathway with neurological conditions.
You will need good interpersonal skills to provide leadership and advice; to support and coordinate the triage and allocation of cases; to oversee the handover process and guide appropriate, relevant clinical discussions.
Team priorities change throughout the day. We are therefore seeking to appoint a self-motivated, forward-thinking person, who will be committed to the development of themselves and the team, striving to provide close working with the wider acute multidisciplinary team, intermediate care and the community and third sector teams aiming to deliver the right support, at the right time with an ethos of home first.
You will need to have a flexible approach to the needs of the service and be an organised individual with excellent time management skills, able to manage a complex caseload.
You will have advanced clinical knowledge, risk assessment skills and Manual Handling experience.
You will need the ability and skills to work autonomously and alongside members of the team in a managerial and clinical role with responsibilities including PDR and supervision of staff.
You will be committed to delivering evidence based practice, developing your own clinical skills and those of others.
You will provide leadership in the development and ongoing quality assurance of the service, undertaking evaluation, audit, and contributing to research as required.
You will have skills in supporting a range of colleagues, including junior members, members of the wider multidisciplinary team and the Service Lead.
You will be able to represent Occupational Therapy in discussions with key stakeholders and promote service development aimed at improving patient outcomes, experience and flow throughout the hospital and on to their homes.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh Speakers are equally welcome to apply.
As 7 day services are being developed, applicants must be prepared to work as part of a rota over 7 days. The post holder will be expected to travel between sites to visit patients at home. Mileage allowance is payable, pool cars and a lease car scheme is available.
