Are you looking for an opportunity to take the lead on an exciting new area of Dietetics? Are you looking to work in an area where you can make an impact on the nutrition of future generations within ABUHB?

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Dietitian to have overall responsibility for shaping and delivering the Early Years Dietetic provision forming part of the Healthy Weight Healthy Gwent programme.

The post holder will work in partnership with and develop effective partnership relations with relevant internal and external stakeholders e.g. Health visitors, flying start officers, pre-school workers, Nursery settings, local authority childcare settings.

Liaising with statutory sector, voluntary groups and organisations to promote Early Years Nutrition Skills For Life training.  This role will include ensuring ease of participant access to early years nutrition information and training, identify areas of improvement and address barriers to training.

They are responsible for facilitating the continuous education and development of dietitians, support staff and students within their team in this specialist area.

This role will be based at Ty Gwent in Cwmbran but cover the whole of ABUHB.

Main duties of the job

This role will have overall responsibility for shaping and delivering the Early Years Healthy Eating agenda across Gwent. The post holder will work in partnership with and develop effective relationships with external stakeholders e.g. workers within pre-school settings, health visitors and child minders. This role is pivotal in expansion ofa Healthy  Early Years Nutrition offer across Gwent.

The post holder will facilitate the development of appropriate & integrated Early years nutrition training & support packages with Nutrition at the heart of future service development.

The post-holder will be an expert practitioner, providing clinical and professional leadership within the field of nutrition in early years across the Gwent area.

They will advise, guide and mentor dietitians and others in relation to their specialist area and professional practice.

They work closely with others to ensure the highest clinical and professional quality standards are maintained.

They also undertake all project management functions including financial reporting, monitoring and evaluation.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
