We are seeking an experienced clinical lead and manager with advanced expertise in respiratory care (nursing or physiotherapy) to lead and manage a multidisciplinary community respiratory service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the holistic management of long-term conditions and be capable of delivering and overseeing care across pathways such as Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Home Oxygen Assessment and Review, Spirometry, and self-management support. While expertise in all pathways is not essential, a comprehensive understanding of integrated respiratory care is required.
In addition to clinical responsibilities, the role includes significant leadership, strategic planning, and operational management duties. You will drive service development, lead quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to regional strategic leadership within North Central London. Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and team leadership skills are essential.
Collaboration with primary, secondary, and community care is central to this role, supported by a culture of integrated working and continuous learning. The successful candidate will also be responsible for staff education and development, requiring excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
Provide strategic leadership in the delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of high-quality, safe, effective, and efficient care within the Camden Community COPD and Home Oxygen Service.
Collaborate with respiratory clinical leads across sites to advance physiotherapy and nursing services, aligning with local, regional, and national healthcare priorities.
Partner with the Head of Long-Term Conditions and senior managers within the organisation and across the sector to shape and influence the development of innovative care models.
Drive service innovation by promoting and implementing progressive approaches to respiratory care delivery across multidisciplinary teams.
Act as an expert practitioner in holistic respiratory care, specialising in COPD and home oxygen therapy, operating with a high degree of professional autonomy, accountability, and clinical expertise.
Lead quality improvement initiatives and contribute to research activities within the clinical practice and service areas, supporting the organisation’s commitment to excellence and innovation in respiratory care.
The team is currently based at St Pancras Hospital but will shortly be moving to Peckwater Centre and operates 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday. The post-holder will be required to contribute to a rotating on-call telephone advisory service which runs from 8am - 9am and 5am - 8pm, Monday to Friday.
