Job overview

To assist in the smooth and efficient running of the Imaging Care Unit by providing clinical and administrative support and enhanced clinical skills to deliver a high-quality service to all outpatients both on the main site at Chesterfield Royal Hospital Foundation trust and our community diagnostic site at Walton Hospital. To assist and co-ordinate the transfer of in-patients to and from the wards to ensure smooth patient pathways throughout all areas of the Imaging Care Unit.

Main duties of the job

• Assist the Imaging Team in the care of the Patient:-

a) Helping patients undress (if necessary) prior to examination

b) Assist during examination/procedures giving care and reassurance

c) Assist patients for discharge and inform them of the results procedure

• Chaperone patients during examination as required.
• Escort patients to and from wards when required.
• Assist with processing of images and post examination documentation.
• Maintain a tidy and safe department ensuring rooms are adequately stocked with linen/stock/equipment.
• Ensure that the Trust’s Prevention and Control of Infection policies and procedures are implemented and always maintained.
• Have an awareness of the Clinical Governance agenda.
• Support and take active role in research and audit undertaken by other members of the multidisciplinary team.
• To actively participate in the Staff Development Process Review.
• Encourage, mentor and train all team members within GIA and CIA teams.
• Active participation in stock control
