Job overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Clinical Governance Facilitator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in role in ensuring that there are effective structures and processes in place within the Division of Women's and Children's to effectively implement and continuously monitor Clinical Governance activity (i.e. the seven pillars of governance/ all governance domains) across the Division alongside the CGF for maternity.

This role involves providing expert leadership and specialist advice, support and feedback on matters relating to clinical governance, including patient safety, clinical risk assessments, and health and safety governance to all grades of staff including both management and clinicians within the relevant Business Unit(s) and Division.  Demanding and challenging, this role will engage all of your existing skills, and build on them. You will work alongside and support the wider multidisciplinary team in providing a high-quality service to all key stakeholders within the organisation.

The post will play a leading role in ensuring that there are effective structures and processes in place within the Business Units to effectively, implement and continuously monitor, Clinical Governance activity across the Division. In this way they will facilitate and enable Organisational compliance with the national requirements and standards set by the Integrated Care Boards, Care Quality Commission.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will lead the Division of Women's and Children's Governance Team alongside the CGF for maternity, with compassion, kindness, leadership and shape outstanding quality care alongside the divisional multidisciplinary team.

Support the allocated Business Units, and their clinical sub specialities, on all aspects of clinical Governance to ensure compliance with Trust and National standards and targets in clinical governance issues.

Provide leadership and specialist advice, support and feedback on matters relating to clinical governance, including patient safety, clinical risk assessments, and health and safety governance to all grades of staff including both management and clinicians within the relevant Business Unit(s) and Division.

Provide reports to key Trust level Strategic Committees regarding clinical and patient safety incidents, and near miss incidents, to facilitate effective decision-making.

Enable the establishment of a clear stratagem of organisational learning as a result of incidents and other key patient safety and service quality issues.
