We are looking to recruit a Higher Specialist Paediatric Trainee to join the team from September 2026 for a period of 6 months. On call duties will on the Specialty Paediatric HST Rota. This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in specialist training in Paediatric Hepatology. The successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary team involved in running a supra-regional Paediatric Hepatology, Hepatobiliary Surgery and Liver Transplant Service. The role is suitable for applicants at ST6+ or Post CCT candidates with experience in Paediatric Hepatology. It is ideally suited to candidates wishing to work in a large teaching hospital which provides many specialist services and is ideal for anyone wishing to pursue a career in Paediatrics. The daytime role will primarily be based on the Paediatric Hepatology Ward (L50). The post holder will be involved in the day to day management of inpatients and take part in outpatient clinics. There will be opportunities to further their training in practical procedures such as therapeutic endoscopy and liver biopsy. This will include gaining experience in management of patients with acute liver failure, and those undergoing liver transplantation. The weekly ward timetable includes close supervision by consultants and several opportunities for clinical teaching. The post-holder will have the opportunity to participate in medical audit and local/multi-centre research projects.
