Job overview

The post holder will need to demonstrate their ability to work at SHO level to cover both the department’s outpatient and inpatient services, experience as ENT or Surgical SHO with ideal previous NHS Experience. This may be at our main site or at one of our peripheral hospital sites.  It is therefore a stand alone 4months post in ENT Department that would suit a candidate wishing to pursue an ENT career or to get more experience of ENT.

Main duties of the job

The Department of ENT is looking for an enthusiastic SHO (or equivalent) to join our team on a fixed term basis. This post will give the successful applicant clinical experience in all areas of ENT including the assessment and clinical management of emergency patients. There are research opportunities and the postholder may undertake clinical and medical audit to demonstrate clinical outcomes and clinical effectiveness of the clinical care pathways in ENT. The post is supported by a large team of doctors at all levels who provide a 24/7 elective and emergency service. The department also works very closely with the Department of Audiovestibular Medicine and the two services share a purpose built outpatient area.
