The Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition is a full‑time role based at Nottingham Children’s Hospital, providing specialist inpatient and outpatient support across a large secondary and tertiary paediatric population. The post enhances service capacity in general gastroenterology, IBD, intestinal failure, nutritional support, liver clinics and transition pathways. It offers supervised exposure to specialist endoscopy depending on experience and contributes actively to MDT working, research and teaching within a well‑established academic and clinical environment. The Fellow works closely with consultants, specialist nurses, dietitians, pharmacists and psychologists in a highly integrated PGHAN service.
The Fellow delivers comprehensive PGHAN clinical care, including inpatient management, specialist consults, regional advice and continuity across the MDT. Responsibilities include supporting endoscopy lists where appropriate, participating in IBD clinics, nutrition rounds, ward reviews, transition clinics and joint hepatology services. The role requires reciprocal cover with the PGHAN registrar to maintain safe staffing. The Fellow also engages in governance activities such as audit, guideline development, incident review and evidence‑based practice. Teaching is integral, spanning undergraduate and postgraduate learners. The post supports research engagement through NUH’s established academic partnerships, contributing to service development and broader PGHAN network activity.
