Job Title: Stereotactic Clinical and Research Fellowship– Scottish Oligometastatic SABR Network

Department: Cancer Services

Base: Edinburgh Cancer Centre, Western General Hospital

Post Summary: This post is intended to support the delivery of equitable access to radiotherapy for patients with oligometastatic disease suitable for radiotherapy by supporting the Oligometastatic SABR Teams across the 5 cancer centres in Scotland, Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness.

This national role will be based primarily at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre with the aim of realising the vision of improving equity of access and expectation towards oligometastatic treatment for patients across Scotland. The post will involve taking a lead on developing SABR for all organ sites suitable for SABR across the 5 centres, running oligometastases clinics, taking the lead on the COMET-3 and COMET-10 national clinical oligometastases trials, developing novel research projects. The role involves working with a teams of oncologists, physicists and radiographers across the 5 cancer centres in order to realise the vision. In addition, you will work with Research Nurses, Data Managers and Trials Administrators, and the R and D Team to recruit and manage trials patients to ensure the team meets the required quality standards and recruitment targets.

The post does not have educational approval from the Postgraduate Dean and will not be recognised for training.
